I’ve been feeling like I need to post a video blog for quite some time. Here are a couple links you can click to read what I’ve been reading (if you’re interested):

Great vid! Life is one big mushy mess sometimes though, isn’t it? Glad to share some of it with you.

You are officially the only person to see the video, so at least it didn’t cause you to report it to YouTube for being lame…yet. 🙂 Thanks, and glad to share this journey with you as well!

WOW! You sure cleaned up your kitchen counter (for being such a “messy mush” – ;)> )

Bwahahaha! It’s good that it wasn’t a panoramic shot! What’d you think of the video attempt? 😉 (Just an aside, I think that if you log in with your WordPress account when commenting, other people can click your link and see YOUR blog…if you’d like them to have a chance to see it.)

    1) I love you and I miss you
    2) Please tell me what make-up is on your face. It is flawless.
    3) Please tell me what you did to your hair. Step by step. I love.

      1) If you’re who I think you are, then I love and miss you too! Big kiss – Mwah!
      2) I find it hilarious about this because I had a GIGANTIC pimple on my chin. In the video you probably thought it was a birth mark, a mole, or a big kettle balanced there, but it wasn’t. It was a pimple. Yes I am aware that I’m not a teenager, but my face doesn’t seem to agree. As for make-up, for my powerful under-eye circles I’ve recently found Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind, Eraser Dark Circles. This stuff is fantastic. I have tried more expensive stuff and I like this just as well if not better. There is a bigger version for all over your face, and I like that too (called Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup) BUT I use the under-eye circle one to cover up blemishes/redness and it covers even better than the one intended for your face. I just try to remember to set it with some kind of powder. (Try ‘medium’ cause the ‘light’ is REALLY light.) My one complaint it that you twist it to dispense the stuff and you have to take the cap off AFTER you twist it or you’ll mess it up.

      3) I can’t possibly bore you with details about my hair after that long answer to Question/Command 2. Quick answer: a few chunks quickly done with a flat curling wand add definition and make it look like my hair was on purpose.

Please allow me to say what a sweet day-boost your affirmation was. Thank you. It is unsettling to see/hear yourself on camera so to know you didn’t think I looked like a hag was very encouraging. Have a fantastic day!

Oh my goodness – I always feel super odd when my parents discuss things I’ve written about on my blog. I want to say, “I wrote everything I wanted to talk about in the blog post. Discussion closed.” but that would really come across as just plain rude, I think. Thanks for the shout-out!

Hi! Thank you so much for stopping by. I’m honored to have you, and also a little freaked out since YOU DESIGN AMAZING BLOGS and are so good at this blogging thing, and what if you don’t like mine or what if you think it is obnoxious or what if you hated the vlog post or…or…or… — okay, I’ll stop now, but thank you for clicking on over.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one with mixed feelings about my parents interest in the blog. They moved to Costa Rica part time and they try to keep up with us/me online while they are gone. I love them and ultimately am glad they want to be a part of things, but there are a few moments that feel like I’ve been launched back to my teenager self from long ago. Strange how that happens.

Have a fantastic day, and it was my pleasure to mention you in the post. Your site is a great place to learn and be inspired. Thanks for sharing your talents with the rest of us!

Great job! I admit absolute terror when I think about vlogging. It will probably never happen although you made it look … easy. I have been struggling, too, about how to write honestly without stepping on toes. It’s not always easy. My first blog post was about some ambivalence I am feeling toward my impending retirement (and impliedly being with hubby 24/7). His initial reaction to it was, “You don’t really want to retire, do you?!” and I had to spend the better part of our evening reassuring him. Bleck. But it was worth writing even for all that. Thanks for sharing — you are always an encouragement. And p.s. I agree with Stephanie, your hair and makeup were fab. 🙂

It is good to know I’m not alone in the struggle to find the balance between self-disclosure and guarding the people around me. I’m discovering that the writing process isn’t only the external ‘putting pen to paper’ but also the internal dialog that goes along with processing what to say. It can be exhausting but if it brings about meaningful conversations and connections (even before you’ve written a line), it is a good thing, in my opinion. P.S. Thanks for your encouragement about the vlog. I got to the point where I had to just do it, almost as a way to conquer my fear of revealing what a ordinary person I am.
